"The University of Wisconsin Arboretum is pleased to announce a spectacular summer camp program for children in pre-school through grade 8. The Earth Focus Day Camp accommodates kids and parents who love the out of doors and also those who are just beginning to explore the grandeur of nature. The programs are designed to encourage a sense of discovery and to stimulate the imagination of young campers as they learn about the natural world around them. Camp themes are based on the natural communities of wetlands, prairie lands, and grasslands and introduce campers to basic ecological principles. Activities include hiking and exploring, nature play, nature journaling and drawing, and mapping. Camp consists of three programs: Learning Together meets two days pre session (for children age 3 through kindergarten with their parents), Explorers meet five days per session (for children entering grades 1 through 5), and Eco-Trekkers meet five days per session (for children in grades 6 through 8). To register your child, please pick up a camp brochure at the Arboretum Visitor Center: 1207 Seminole Hwy., Madison, WI 53711 or visit the Arboretum website.
