Earth Focus Day Camp (UW-Madison Arboretum)

| The UW Arboretum is pleased to announce a spectacular summer camp program for children in pre-school through grade 8. The Earth Focus Day Camp accommodates kids and parents who love the out of doors. The programs are designed to encourage a sense of discovery and to stimulate the imagination of young campers as they learn about the natural world around them. Camp themes are based on the natural communities of wetlands, prairie lands, and grasslands and introduce campers to basic ecological principles. Activities include hiking and exploring, hands-on science experiments, nature play, and nature journaling. Camp consists of five programs: Learning Together meets one day per session (for children age 3 through kindergarten with their parents), Young Explorers meet for a 3 day session(for children entering K & 1st), Explorers meet five days per session (for children entering grades 1 through 5), Young Naturalists meet five linger days (for children entering grades 4-8), and Eco-Trekkers meet five days per session (for children in grades 6 through 8). Also - This camp will include lots of hiking and playing in the natural communities of the arboretum. Kids MUST come prepared to spend the morning outside. Closed-toed shoes and socks, long pants, and hats are required. A snack and water will be provided. |
