"The Northland Youth Music Program (N.Y.M.P.) began nine years ago.
The program was started by a group of parents and interested citizens who recognized the need for affordable high quality extracurricular music programs for students in 6th through 12th grade (younger students may apply please contact camp director). The N.Y.M.P. provides students participating in a school band, choir, or orchestra program (unless in alternative schooling) high quality extracurricular music opportunities without regard to their ability to pay tuition. The N.Y.M.P. offers four one week programs, including two on week of choir, concert band, and jazz band programs. Each week the program starts out fresh with new music and new ensembles. Weekly classes include: music history, listening, theory, ear training, improvisation (during jazz weeks), sight reading, and other classes"
