Let's Play Music! Summer Mini-Courses
Middleton, Dane County
Let's Play Music! is an excellent way to sing, play and LEARN MUSIC this summer. Mini-courses are a great intro for any child planning to start a musical instrument or for children planning to enroll in the LETS PLAY MUSIC school-year piano course.
Classes are designed for children ages 3-6: Music theory and instruction are wrapped up in a playful, silly package with lots of full-body motion.
Little Red Balloons: Pitch

Monday-Friday, August 2-6 & August 9-13, 2010
This two week course emphasizes PITCH and STAFF READING. In ten 60 minute lessons, puppets, games, and props are used to study and practice the major scale, Solfeggio syllables (DO, RE, MI) and hand signs, matching pitch, reading on the staff, playing patterns from the staff on melody tone bells, and more.

This one week course emphasizes RHYTHM. In five 60 minute lessons we study and practice keeping a steady beat, subdividing the beat, rhythmic notation, reading and performing rhythms. Don't tell your child, though...s/he'll think it's all just fun and games.
