Sand Lake Conservation Camp
Crivitz, Marinette County
Camp Bird Youth Camp, about 16 miles west of Crivitz. Street address is N8395 Caldron Falls Road, Crivitz, 54114.Resident camp. Sessions for - coeds grades 6 to 8. Personal technology prohibited (tablets, smart/i/cellphones, iPod/mp3 players, texting/internet/gaming devices, etc.) Regular cameras OK.June 20 to June 22. 2018Youth from Wisconsin and Michigan's UP entering grades 6-8 this fall can participate. Registration cut off is June 1st. Registrations taken first-come, first-served, and there may be a waiting list to attend due to camp popularity.$100 until 5/18; after 5/18 is $150. Registrations due 6/1. Contact your County Land Conservation office for any available scholarships.
|The thirteenth annual Sand Lake Conservation Camp will be will be held at Camp Bird June 20-22, 2018 for Wisconsin & Upper Michigan youth entering grades 6-8 in the fall. This camp provides positive educational outdoor experiences, helps foster an appreciation for nature, and introduces a variety of opportunities in natural resources and conservation careers. Campers are exposed to environmental issues, social interactions, and hands-on activities, all of which contribute to life-long learning. Activities include topics such as wildlife ecology, water quality, fisheries, and outdoor skills (orienteering, canoeing, kayaking, archery, fire-building, etc.). Other programs include campers' choice activities and visits by the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary of Green Bay and the Wisconsin DNR. Come make new friends, participate in hands-on activities, practice social & leadership skills, enjoy the outdoors, and just have fun!
|Activities: Archery, canoeing/kayaking, crafts, nature/environmental studies, outdoor skills, rope course, swimming. Also - Cabin group competitions include a fire-building contest, a scavenger hunt, and Conservation Jeopardy. Prizes awarded to winning cabins.|
First-aid/CPR certified staff & EMT on site, lifeguard on duty for free swim. Lifejackets required for all boating & fishing activities.No - only to drop off & pick up campers.
