- Two Rivers Wisconsin business man Bernard Schwartz, read a Time magazine story on Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian house. He was determined to have the "dream house" he had seen in Life. Wright obliged and tailored the plans to fit Schwartz's lot in Two Rivers. Schwartz was thrilled with his home which was created from tide-water Cypress, red concrete floors and brick. The Bernard Schwartz House is only one of three Frank Lloyd Wright-designed houses in the world available for rental occupancy.

- In 1857 John Woodhouse, with wife Harriet and five children, moved from Boston to Dunn County wilderness. One child was Caroline Augusta, who inspired "Caddie Woodlawn" in a book written by her granddaughter, Carol Ryrie Brink. The book is a classic and is read by children throughout the world. - S.S. Meteor Whaleback Ship Museum
- The S.S. Meteor is the last remaining of these innovative ships (called whalebacks for their rounded hulls). Launched from Superior in 1896, she carried a variety of cargos on the Great Lakes, including iron ore, grain, cars, and oil. In 1972 she was brought home to Superior. Hear the ship's whistle and see the original 1896 steam engine as you tour from pilot house to cargo holds. The Museum also features exhibits on Twin Ports shipbuilding history and Great Lakes shipwrecks.

- In this schoolhouse, on March 20, 1854, the first mass meeting in the country was held that definitely and positively cut loose from old parties and advocated a new party. Ripon citizens voted to form and become members of a new political party called "Republican." The birth of the Republican Party brought a dedicated following of individuals who pledged to organize together and fight against the spread of slavery. - In 1857, the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Agnes was started by pioneering priest Father Casper Rehrl. These hardy souls braved the wilds of Wisconsin to start the area’s first public school open to anyone who wished to learn. Teachers were also trained here. This site features unique fieldstone construction, convent rectory and barn on three acres.

- Ten Chimneys, home and retreat of Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, is open to the public as a world-class house museum and a national resource for theatre and the arts. Almost all of the estate’s décor and collections are intact and remain unchanged since the Lunts first assembled them in the 1930s and ’40s. - Those who braved the arduous journey from Sheboygan to Fond du Lac in the 1850s passed many hours jarred by the clack and clatter of spoke wheels on wooden planks before arriving at the Wade House stagecoach inn. Built 1844-1847 by the Italian missionary to North America Father Samuel Mazzuchelli. The Mazzuchelli Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus has begun restoring and preserving this historic structure which could be recognized as the oldest original church in Wisconsin. It stands exactly as when it was built 160 years ago. Father Samuel Mazzuchelli was the architect and builder of St Augustine as well as 20 some other churches built in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois during the period 1830 to 1864. - Pendarvis State Historic Site
- Cornish miners crossed the Atlantic and trundled across largely uncharted wilds of the Wisconsin Territory for rich veins of lead and zinc ore and little else but the knowledge that they were the best hard-rock miners in the world. They transplanted their Old World culture in rich Wisconsin earth. Pendarvis is a complex of restored houses built by Cornish miners during the 1840s and 50s using the nearby Galena limestone.
