Amnicon Falls State Park
Amnicon Falls features a series of delightful waterfalls and rapids along the Amnicon River, viewed from a covered footbridge. Open May 1 through the first week of October. 825 acres. Aztalan State Park
Aztalan is an important archaeological site, showcasing the location of a 12th century Native American village. Open daily April through October. 172 acres. Features handicap- accessible picnic area, canoeing, fishing, 1.5 miles of hiking trails.

Belmont Mound State Park
The Belmont Lions Club operates and maintains this park. Belmont Mound, an outlier of the famed Niagara dolomite escarpment, reaches nearly 400 feet above the Village of Belmont. From the 64-foot observation tower on top, you can see for many miles in all directions. The wooded mound abounds in berries and wildlife. It has picnic and playground facilities but no camping. Wisconsin's First Capitol historic site is less than a mile to the west.

Big Foot Beach State Park
Big Foot Beach, on the shores of Lake Geneva, offers wooded campsites, a sand beach and picnic areas. Open mid-May through October. 271 acres. Blue Mound State Park
Blue Mound is perched atop the highest point in southern Wisconsin with spectacular views and unique geological features. Buena Vista Park
Buena Vista Park is open year around. It is 500 feet above Alma. The scenic overlook includes the views of the City of Alma, Miles of the Mississippi River, back waters, islands and Lock and Dam #4. Chippewa Moraine State Recreation Area
Situated along the Ice Age Trail, visitors enjoy unspoiled beauty with kettle lakes and many glacial features. Rib Mountain State Park

Rieck's Lake Park
Rieck's Lake Park becomes the resting and feeding station for hundreds of Tundra Swans between mid October and mid November. The park also has an observation platform which is staffed during this Swan Watch period. The platform also has mounted scopes and interpretive panels all year long. This area also has bald eagles, egrets, herons, several kinds of ducks all within close viewing and great for photography. The park also has restrooms and camping. Radio AM1620 only within park. Free admission.

Roche-A-Cri State Park
The park's French name refers to the 300-foot-high rock outcropping that is the central feature of this quiet park. Climb the stairway to the top for a panoramic view. Native American petroglyphs can also be seen on the rocks. 460 acres. Rock Island State Park
Take the ferry to this primitive Lake Michigan island park. No wheeled vehicles are allowed. Stone buildings, built by a wealthy inventor who owned the island between 1910 and 1930, now house exhibits. 912 acres. Rocky Arbor State Park

Straight Lake State Park
Our newest state park (dedicated 2005), Straight Lake completes the largest missing gap in the Ice Age National Scenic Trail system in western Wisconsin. State officials envision that much of the 2,780-acre park will be used for silent sports including hunting, fishing, hiking, non-motorized boating and primitive camping. A state wildlife area to the north, for which additional land will be purchased later, is open for deer, small game, waterfowl and turkey hunting. Until facilities ae improved, the park is open for foot traffic only -- no motorized vehicles, bicycles or horses. Fishing is allowed, and boats must be carried in.

Tiffany Wildlife Area
Tiffany Wildlife Area offers 12,500 acres of free rustic walking trails, fourteen public boat launching ramps on Hwy 25 at Hwy 35 just north of Nelson. Hunting, fishing, trapping, nature photography, birding and wild berry picking are popular activities. Motor vehicles are not allowed anywhere in the wildlife area. Primitive camping is allowed by permit only. Camping permits are available at the DNR office in Alma. Contact: DNR 608-685-6222. Open year around. Free admission.

Tower Hill State Park
Visit the park's restored shot tower and melting house to see exhibits on lead shot making from the 1800s. Challenging bluff trails and panoramic views. Open mid-April through October. 77 acres.
