 Wisconsin's Might Mussels Evening Exploration

Presenter: Lisie Kitchel, DNR Conservation Biologist Warty purpleback, moneyface, and creek heel splitter sound like kids' nicknames, but they're just a few of Wisconsin's 51 species of mussels. These clam-like animals (bivalves) have truly intriguing life cycles including finding a host animal for their young, and play fascinating roles in our economy.
