 Diverse Directions - Art Gallery Exhibit
Friday, October 13, 2017 through Friday, November 24, 2017. 10am-4pm. The WI Watercolor Society will be presenting their 65th anniversary with an exhibit "Diverse Directions" at Gallery 110 North at the Plymouth Arts Center. The exhibit begins with an opening reception on Oct. 13 from 4:30-7pm. and runs until Nov. 24, 2017. The theme for this exhibit will feature how unique and diverse watercolor paintings can be presented. Landscapes, floral, portraiture, abstraction, and non-objective will be presented. FREE. The devout Catholic is a mother of three, an organizer for her soup kitchen and the caretaker of her family's local claim to fame: a 20-foot shrine to the Blessed Mother commemorating the miraculous night in 1942 when she appeared to Clara's father in his barbershop. But when daughter Ruth announces one fateful Christmas Eve that she plans to create a one-woman show about her Grandpa's story this family's foundations are shaken to the core.  Paul Smith: Masters of Craft
Sunday, September 17, 2017 through Sunday, January 7, 2018. This exhibition offers an intimate look at major figures in contemporary craft. For over thirty years, Paul J. Smith, Director Emeritus of the Museum of Arts and Design, took casual portraits of artists as he encountered them in various settings including in their studios. With an atypical twist of having the emphasis on the artist directly and not the work itself, these photographs reflect the personalities and individuality of makers who shaped the field in the twentieth century.
