 Small Gifts from Big Donors - Part 3
Sunday, October 8, 2017 through Sunday, February 4, 2018. Small Gifts from Big Donors is an exhibition series that focuses on the small-scale gifts of twelve significant contributors to what has become America's largest collection of contemporary craft. Throughout 2017, selections from their donations will be featured, with four donors being represented at a time.  Here We Make Our Home Exhibit
Friday, December 1, 2017 through Friday, March 9, 2018. From 9am to 8pm. This exhibit aims to create a respectful dialogue within participating schools on the immigration stories students posses through family heritage or even personal experience. This project invites the participating teachers to explore with their students the visual, poetic, and metaphoric imagery that the migratory nature of birds provides along with the idea of home and settlement which a birdhouse can represent. His younger brother Oshoosi wanders aimlessly after his recent release from prison, uninterested in following Ogun's disciplined path. Each seeks to be free -- Ogun of worry for his brother and Oshoosi simply of the bayou country of Louisiana.  Karen Johnson Boyd: From the Vault
Friday, August 4, 2017 through Friday, July 27, 2018. Karen Johnson Boyd was an advocate for and collector of art who had a strong affinity for contemporary American craft. This Windows on 5th installation pays homage to her role in establishing RAM's craft collection by featuring large-scale ceramic work that she donated to the museum over the years. With works presented as if being pulled from crates or out of storage, this exhibition offers a playful take on building a collection, honoring a donor, and managing works of art.
