 Big Band Concert by Alan Gresik's Swing Shift Orchestra
Sunday, November 8, 2009. 1-4 pm; doors open at noon. For 10+ years, crowds have packed Chicago's historic Green Mill Jazz Club to hear and dance to the Big Band swing music of the Swing Shift Orchestra who will perform for the first time on the Madison Jazz Society stage in November. Featured in the movie "Return to Me," the Orchestra brings the jumping, swinging music of the 1920s to 1940s to roaring life. The band performs as if part of an old-time radio show, complete with emcee and actors recreating era commercials. $20 for MJS members; $25 for non-members; age 18 & younger: free.  Festival Leverages Power of Film for Community Action
