Students from Jewelry and Metalsmithing present at least 500 pieces of jewelry that are unique and sometimes outrageous but will address the idea of value, preciousness, or cheapness. Sunday, November 15, 2009 through Tuesday, December 15, 2009. A collection of 40 striking images of galaxies, planets and more will be on public display. The colorful exhibit, "From Earth to the Universe," is part of a worldwide celebration of the International Year of Astronomy, marking 400 years since Galileo first used his telescope to peer beyond the Earth. Local exhibit organizer Laura Trouille, a UW astronomy graduate student, was awarded a NASA International Year of Astronomy Ambassador grant to develop an exhibit for Wisconsin audiences.
