Friday, January 1, 2010. 1 to 5pm. Raising funds to supplement Snowmobile Trails 80, 87, 88, 90, 121, and 141. Club Members and businesses all donate goods to be raffled off during the day. The Ticket Raffles, guns and Amish Quilt are held at 4:30 p.m. The Club serves a fine luncheon and the public is welcomed to join the festivities! The Last Decade is the first U.S. museum survey exhibition to explore the work that this seminal American artist produced during his final years. Warhol entered a period of renewed vigor and enthusiasm in the 1980s that resulted in arguably the most productive period of his career.  Signs of the Times: Robert Rauschenberg's America
Sunday, September 13, 2009 through Sunday, January 3, 2010. Robert Rauschenberg (1925-2008), who came to prominence in the 1950s, was one of the great American artists of our time. As a painter, sculptor, and printmaker, he drew his subject matter from the everyday world. In the style of collage, he juxtaposed and overlapped actual objects and fragments derived from photographs, newspaper clippings, and magazines­­ often bound together by the artist's gestural brush work­­ to create kaleidoscopic works of art. Wisconsin sculptor Annin uses found and fabricated materials to construct freestanding forms resembling clothing, uniforms or costumes, which the artist refers to as "landscapes." In her work a garment becomes a revealing topography of an absent or imagined subject, each "acting as a metaphor for an attitude or custom of our culture."  Cuban Artists' Books and Prints: 1985–2008
Friday, December 4, 2009 through Friday, February 5, 2010. 5 to 7:30pm opening reception. Featuring non-traditional books and printed pieces created by 13 acclaimed artists from Cuba in response to living under a repressive government. Resource shortages led artists to use unorthodox materials to build and adorn their art, all of which were designed for the Ediciones Vigía, a collaborative artists' press founded in 1985 with just a typewriter and a mimeograph (a low-cost stencil-based printing press).  Emily Groom : Wisconsin Master
Wednesday, December 2, 2009 through Saturday, February 13, 2010. 5:30 -8:30pm opening reception. Emily Groom (1875-1975) was a Wisconsin artist and educator whose career spanned eight decades. Groom studied under some of the most well known American artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries: John Vanderpoel, Edmund Tarbell and Frank Benson. She brought her distinctive style of academic impressionism to her classroom at Milwaukee's Downer College where generations of students benefited from her single minded commitment to her craft and her teaching.  From Nature: Realist Works in Permanent Collection
Saturday, July 25, 2009 through Tuesday, July 20, 2010. The last in a 3-part series of exhibitions that surveys the major styles of modernism in the visual arts. Abstract and expressionist styles, previously examined in the series, have little precedent in western art. A modern realist style, however, has evolved as a series of personal elaborations on the Renaissance tradition.
