We can often tell more about animals by the signs they leave behind than we can from direct contact with them. Animal tracks are important clues but nibbled branches, stray animal fur, or scat makes these clues all significant to the story they tell. Groom studied under some of the most well known American artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries: John Vanderpoel, Edmund Tarbell and Frank Benson. She brought her distinctive style of academic impressionism to her classroom at Milwaukee's Downer College where generations of students benefited from her single minded commitment to her craft and her teaching.
