Learn, explore and create in the University's art education studio! Engage in traditional artist studio processes to devise printed images using Gelli printing techniques. But our state's lakes and rivers host a huge variety of other species that often get overlooked. With Mike Pauers, a curator at the Milwaukee Public Museum, delve into watery world of non-game beautiful fish. This exploration is for people over the age of 12 years.  Journey into Darkness Night Hike
Friday, August 14, 2020. 8:00-9:30 pm. As the sun sets and the light fades from the sky, the day animals retire, and a new group of animals awakens. Bring your bug spray and sense of adventure as we search for the night-flying birds. This night hike is best for families/groups with children at least 5 years old. Find out what foreign species can take over our native communities and what people can do to help control their spread. Make several distinctive crafts including a smashed-plant bandanna. Saturday, August 15, 2020. 10:00-11:00 am. Calling all youth to unravel the mysteries of nature by participating in the Wisconsin Explorers program! The program involves completing a required number of engaging nature activities in one of three age appropriate books (ages 3-5, ages 6-8, and ages 9+) to earn a very cool patch.
