 Starving Artists' Show
Sunday, September 8, 2019. 10 am - 5 pm. This annual outdoor art show is hosted on the west lawn of the Mount Mary campus. It features over 200 local and national artists who work in pottery, fiber, photography, painting, sculpture and more. All artwork is original and priced at $100 or less.  Hereditary Ovarian Cancer Syndromes
Tuesday, September 10, 2019. 6-7:30 pm. Learn about genetic risks for ovarian cancer, and how people at higher risk can reduce their chance of developing ovarian cancer.  Solving the Mysteries of Hibernation An Evening with Nature

 Ben Shahn: For the Sake of a Single Verse
Friday, August 16, 2019 through Sunday, December 15, 2019. A portfolio of twenty-four lithographs from the Haggerty Museum of Art's collection created by artist Ben Shahn. The prints illustrate a select passage from Rainer Maria Rilke's only novel. This semi-autobiographical novel tells the story of a college student from an aristocratic Danish family living in destitute in Paris in the early 1900s. Although Shahn first read the novel while visiting Paris in the 1920s, he didn't create the illustrations until 1968-a year before his death. Free.  The Ariel Poems

The pamphlets featured in this exhibition are part of the Raynor Memorial Libraries Special Collections and University Archives, which holds a complete collection of titles in the series. Many of the poets are well-known today, but perhaps the most significant of these is T. S. Eliot.  It's Like Poetry: Building A Toshiko Takaezu Archive at RAM
Friday, August 2, 2019 through Sunday, July 26, 2020. While unassuming in her disposition, artist Toshiko Takaezu (1922-2011) was a bona fide ceramic superstar who pushed the boundaries of clay in the late twentieth century. Inspired by nature and the environment, Takaezu created work that embodied a poetic balance between art and life.  Third Annual Twin Triathlon

Fun event is unique in the Northwoods-8K paddle on North Twin Lake, followed by a 16K bike ride, then a 5K run. Individual ($35), a family or a team ($90). Do one leg, or all three!
