Saturday, August 13, 2016. 6 am to 2 pm. Join the Portage Kiwanis in their "Ride to Read" fundraiser pedaling through scenic Amish country with 4 routes available, 15, 30, 45 or 62 miles. The proceeds of this fundraiser will be used to purchase books for children. Includes continental breakfast, refreshment stops in route, and SAG wagon available.  Lions Ride for Sight
Saturday, August 13, 2016. 8:00 am, 9:00 and 10:00 am. Enjoy a fun bicycle ride on the La Crosse River Bike Trail or a road ride through the Seven Rivers Region while supporting the Lions vision projects. Your participation supports vision screening in area schools/day care centers, the Lions Eye Bank, purchase of hearing aids and glasses, a free summer camp for visually, hearing impaired and diabetic children. Free bike tune-ups, sag support, rest stops, free t shirt or bike socks, door and raffle prizes, and a free lunch.  Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival
Friday, September 16, 2016 through Sunday, September 18, 2016. Saturday riders can participate in a 40 mile, mass start, point-to-point off-road bicycle event travels from downtown Hayward over the famed American Birkebeiner Ski Trail, forest roads, snowmobile trails and other wooded lanes to the finish line at Telemark Resort in Cable. Riders can also choose the shorter 16 mile mass start race/tour as the perfect introductory event for those new to off-road cycling, younger riders or for those not ready to tackle the rigors of the marathon Chequamegon 40.
