 Primitive Hunting and Fishing
Thursday, August 6, 2015. 6 to 7pm. In this Free class, participants will learn about several hunting and fishing tools used by our ancient ancestors. We will assemble deadfall and snare traps, try to hit a target with the atlatl and look at a variety of primitive fishing tools. Meet at Lakeshore Beach located on the western path of the "Island." Free parking along Lakeshore's south entrance road access from Erie St. Paid parking at north entrance at O'Donnel Park.  Learn to Fish Rodeo
Saturday, August 8, 2015. 1-4 pm. Let the fishing fun begin! The rodeo includes Backyard Bass Casting, Fill the Tackle Box, Fishing Regulations Quiz, Avoiding Hazards, Knots Tie-up, What's that Fish? & Bait Your Hook. After completing the rodeo, experienced anglers on the fishing pier will help hone your newly acquired skills. Special surprises & prizes await all who participate. Bring your own gear or you can borrow ours. People over 16 years old need a fishing license to fish. Meet at the fishing pier. Free with 2015 Wisconsin State Park Vehicle Sticker Admission. Sunday, August 9, 2015. 11 am to noon. Fish study, Outdoor activity. Fish aren't the only creatures swimming under the water. We'll grab some nets and head down to the lake to discover just what's swimming under the surface. Meet at the Nature Center. Devil's Lake State Park ext 140, Baraboo, Sauk County. Come find the answers to these questions and much more as we wade through the world of Wisconsin fishes. Everyone is invited to drop in for a few minutes or more than an hour for some nature fun.
