Friday, June 2, 2017. 6-9 pm. Celebrate the opening of Kambui Olujimi: Zulu Time. Olujimi is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice calls attention to the assumptions that underlie our understanding of the world and each other. Guests may explore the exhibition from 6-9 pm. At 6:30 pm, the artist will give a talk addressing the exhibition, his work, and ideas around current social, economic, and political landscapes. Seating capacity for the talk is limited.  Les Paul's Birthday Celebration
Saturday, June 10, 2017. 10 am - 5 pm. In honor of Les Paul, Discovery World celebrates the birthday of this legendary innovator and inventor with a day dedicated to the "Wizard of Waukesha".  Egg Drop at the Museum
Wednesday, June 21, 2017. 4pm to 7pm. Group-build a secure, drop-proof egg carton in the courtroom (or at home) for 1 raw egg. For $10/egg/drop, drop it from the balcony level (80 feet) of the Old Courthouse tower. Hit the target and the egg survives, win a prize. It is $10/egg/drop.  Yellow River Echoes Living History Fur Trade Experience
Friday, June 23, 2017 through Sunday, June 25, 2017. 10 am to 4 pm. Re-enacting the life of fur traders and their Ojibwe neighbors active here from 1802-1805. Learn: What really happened at Forts Folle Avoine from 1802-1805? Why did two competing fur trade companies build posts on the same site? Why did the traders suddenly disappear from the site? Experience a "working fur post" and observe the campsites of re-enactors as they prepare food, participate in fur-trade era games, and demonstrate skills.  Wisconsin Remembers: A Face for Every Name

Wisconsin Public Radio, Wisconsin Public Television and the Wisconsin Veterans Museum are pleased to share Wisconsin Remembers: A Face for Every Name - a traveling exhibit that features a photo for each of the 1,161 Wisconsinites officially listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The exhibit also includes additional photos for names listed on The Highground Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Neillsville, WI. Wisconsin Remembers is a tribute to lost life and lost potential. Demonstrations of period skills including black powder shooting, archery and tomahawk throwing. Tasty food prepared in the fur-trade era manner is a treat. Goods offered by the traders include period clothing, furnishings, camp gear, trade silver, animal skins, jewelry and a fascinating variety of other utilitarian and decorative items.
