 Pheasant Branch Moonlight Walk
Friday, October 6, 2017. 6 pm. The Dairyland Walkers are having a (hopefully) moonlight walk, leaving from the shelter in Orchid Heights Park. This will be a guided walk with the 10K walkers leaving at 6 pm and the 5K walkers leaving at 7 pm. The 10K will go to the top of a hill with views of Lake Mendota and the Capitol, then go through the planned neighborhood of Middleton Hills, and through a conservancy on trails and boardwalks. The 5K goes through the conservancy on trails and boardwalks. $3 for volkssporting credit or $2 for youths and noncredit adults. Orchid Heights Park, 3960 Valley Ridge Road, Middleton, Dane County.  5k Energy Glo Run

 Hunter Sight-in Day
Saturday, November 4, 2017. 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. Southern Lakes Church in Elkhorn, WI will is hosting its annual Sight-in Day. All are invited to the church property to sight in their firearms for the upcoming deer season. The use of the shooting range, shooting rests, spotting scopes, safety glasses, ear plugs and targets are all free, as are bore sighting, snacks and a hot lunch! Saturday, October 7, 2017 through Sunday, October 8, 2017. all day. Head to St. Germain for the 29th Annual Greater Wisconsin Muskie Tournament. This catch and release competition is hosted by expert fishing guide Rob Manthei. Rob continues to grow this event and offer more cash prizes, trophies and raffle prizes year after year.  Halloween Candlelight Cave Tours
Friday, October 20, 2017 through Saturday, October 21, 2017. 5:30-8:30 pm. Tour will depart every half hour 5:30-8:30 pm on Oct. 20; 4:30-8:30 pm on Oct. 21. First come, first served. Enjoy a family-oriented evening visiting trails and caves by candlelight, and meet some unusual personalities with strange stories. Educational rather than scary. Mothers Cave is ALL CRAWLING. Includes biology and geology of caves and opportunities for exploring. Caves are accessed by ladders. Temperatures are cool. Bring flashlight, plan on getting very dirty. Recommended minimum age 8 years old with parent. All minors must be accompanied by supervising adult.
