 Ladies Must Swing Celebrates 20 Years!

Ladies Must Swing was started in 1995 by the Madison Jazz Society as a smaller ensemble and then morphed into the full big band in October of 1997 at Monona Terrace to launch their series "Tunes At the Terrace"! Friday, October 20, 2017. 7:30 pm. Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all dance bandleaders back in the Swing Era of the 30's and 40's. A matchless string of hit records, the constant impact of radio broadcasts and the drawing power at theatres, hotels and dance pavilion, built and sustained the momentum of popularity. Today, the 18 member ensemble continues to play many of the original Miller arrangements both from the civilian band and the AAFB libraries, remaining as an internationally known big band.
